Day #501 of COVID19 Journal

Monday, 02 August 2021

Is it just me, or does everybody feel kind of out of sync and foggy today? I got a whole lot of work done on my transcription assignment and the coding project, but I feel that I need to go back tomorrow and check for mistakes because I cannot recall one bit of what I did. This whole day has felt out of phase and it’s unnerving.

I saw in today’s news that Lindsey Graham tested positive for a post-vax breakthrough case of COVID, and that he feels “fluish.” Wow, really? And yet the GOP members of the House and Senate are balking at the mask mandates put in place for their own safety. I’m sure most of the holdouts are vaccinated, although they won’t admit that to their constituents, because part of their draw is the impression that they’re one of “their” people and believe all of the crap rhetoric being spread about the pandemic and the vaccines.

Meanwhile, Florida had more than 21,000 new cases and nearly 11,000 hospitalizations today. I can see the correlation from all the way over here on the other side of the country. Darwin is vindicated, it’s survival of the smartest. At least all those dead republicans won’t be able to vote later.

I’m not proud of the fact that I’m a probably a bad person because I have zero sympathy for these people who are posting stories about their loved ones who said “I should have gotten the vaccine” right before they flatlined. Yes, you should have. But you didn’t. It’s not like the information wasn’t out there or was hard to find, you just chose to believe the idiots on Facebook. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

One less moron in the gene pool. Bye.
