We did not watch the debate. The sound of that fatuous, orange gasbag’s voice makes me quite literally sick to my stomach. Add in the pointless gestures and ALL OF THE LYING… I just couldn’t EVEN.

I think CNN decided to sacrifice journalistic integrity for shareholder profits. A debate without all of the Trump triggers, such as an audience and a live microphone, keeps his crazy somewhat contained. People need to see him when he’s unleashed. They need to hear his unending word salad and see his insane, uncontrolled impulsive side. Perhaps they should have placed a bottle of ketchup on his podium.

Just writing this is making my chest hurt.

Instead, we ordered Philly cheesesteaks and watched Supernatural. It’s a familiar, comforting cast of characters in a world that no longer makes sense. We played with the birdies and I snapped a great series of overhead photos of Kiki while she destroyed a toy on the play stand. We have to get our joys where we can.

I hope I survive to vote in November.
